Sweet Baby Fifelski

who shall remain nameless, oh wait he is nameless! :)

Baby is here!

It's a...BOY! Welcome to the world!

The lil guy looks like Liam (Mama says) and was 8 lb 6 oz.
He arrived at 9:08 am on April 21st, 2007.

This was the longest labor yet for Katie (God BLESS you!)
as the lil guy was Posterior.

Thanks for all the prayers!

He's HERE!!!!

It's a brand new day, come on baby!

Almost, almost, almost!!!!!!

It's 7 am here and I just received a call from Katie, what a trooper of a woman!

5:30 am - received an epidural
7:00 am - 8 cm dilated and they just broke her water.

Won't be long!!!

Katie's In Labor

Just a quick update, this is Melanie (Katie's sister)
She called at 9 pm to say not much has happened at all (insert disappointed sigh) but for fun she wanted to let you know that inserting an IV has and still does cause extreme lightheaded-ness and near fainting, oh joy! Pitocin is starting, I'll update when I hear more...

g'night from Maryland....

WE ARE ON OUR WAY!

We are going to the hospital!

Keep us in your prayers!

:) James and Katie
(4:45 on Friday!)

Baby

I plan to use this blog for baby updates.. I figure one of my sisters can post for me!
I found out that U of M does inductions at NIGHT. (I've never heard of that before!)
So, we won't be going to the hospital until late afternoon, at least...
Unless my body does its thing earlier!
So, don't expect any news until late tonight or in the morning.
We appreciate all of your prayers, as we prepare for baby's arrival!
:) KATIE

April 17th.. Still Waiting for Baby

You see, I really wanted our little one to arrive last week, during Spring Break.
This has been a wonderful lesson in "letting go and letting God." I was SO sick all week from Influenza.. I lost weight, hardly ate, and laid on the couch or my bed for a week straight! I can't even IMAGINE if I had gone into labor last week!!!
And so, of course, the Lord has an awsome plan.. and we are waiting to see what it is!
(The doctor has a plan, too, btw. If baby doesn't come by Friday... we will be having the baby on that day via induction.. My friend Megan's birthday!!)
So, we are practicing patience. And this week, I am trying to get more things cleaned
(I did all of the wood floors last night!), catch up on laundry, set things up for baby.
I am thankful for a little "bonus" time to get things done!
(OH, and rest, too, which I still need a lot of!)
So, if you are checking in to see if Baby has arrived, he (presumably) hasn't...
but keep checking. It won't be long now!
And just for a little chuckle, the boys are really excited for the baby to come.
Peter keeps saying "Go to the 'ospi-al', Mom!" He has also tried feeding the baby milk through my belly button. LOL! The morning he kept yelling "I LOVE your BELLY, MOM!" while hugging me.
The older boys are hoping to get a day off of school when I have the baby ;)
Liam and Francis like to yell at my tummy "Hi Baby! We love you!"
Also, this morning, they were all speculating that we could have 3 or 4 or 5 little tiny babies in mommy's tummy! LOL! Boy would THAT throw me for a loop!!
