My Camera is Missing

We just got home from a very short date night.

The little boys are all sleeping... and they are Oh So Adorable!

Liam is sleeping in a fetal position with not one cover on. He looks cold!

Peter is sleeping among 2 huge blankets (One is Liam's!) and all snuggled up.
He has his paper airplane lying right next to his head.

Michael is sleeping on his back (as usual) with a silver helmet in his hands (on his chest).

I am so thankful for my boys!

Chick News

Our Isa Red's turn 3 weeks today! (We got them at 15 days old). They are getting big.. and we are working on their coop and enclosure! They will live in the basement of the playhouse in the back yard. James and the boys are working hard at building the enclosed outdoor area for them.

Today I separated them from the younger chicks and so we now have 2 boxes of chicks in the basement.

Today one of our yellow-ish chicks AND an Isa Red made a mad dash for the table outside of their little box. Apparently their feathers are growing in faster than I suspected! I kept them from this naughty adventure by putting chicken wire on top of the boxes tonight.

Tonight I learned how to "candle" my chicken eggs!! I am VERY excited to see that they are developing. Little chick embryos!

That's it for now... more news soon, I am sure!

We are praying for warmer weather!!!!! It was FRIGID today!

Baby Chicks Arrive: St. Patrick's Day!

The chick in the center is a Rhode Island Red

The chicks that are already feathered a bit are RI reds, the brownish ones are Isa Browns and the Yellow ones are Buff Orpintons.

They are so so cute!
We have 2 Rhode Island Reds, 2 Buff Orpingtons and 4 Isa Browns.
We also have 18 eggs in the incubator.
(These will be a surprise-- but, we may get Barred Rocks!)

Hopefully next week I will have pictures of the Hen House in progress!
These babies can't live in my basement forever!

We should start getting eggs in September...
and then we will have the yummiest brunches around! Can't wait!

Pinewood Derby

Francis' Wolf Den

My WeBeLoS I Den

This year we had a stressful derby. We made some mistakes on 2 of the cars and almost got disqualified. Liam and Pat made cars for the open class. The track broke in the middle of the open class! (The timer quit working!) But, overall, the kids had fun. I survived.. and life marches on!

Mike takes on Pat

LOL.

Liam has an 'overnight'!

We had a BLAST with his friend, Dominic!

I just love Dexter! (Feb. 2009)

Today we took a walk outside.
It was gorgeous.
I love our little town.
It reminds me of Rockford, where I went to High School.
Cute shops, friendly people, and a really cool looking pavilion!

Wiliam Turns 6

I have decided to journal about each of my kids on their birthdays.
I've seen other bloggers do this.. and I think it is a cool idea!

Liam is so sweet!
He is quite particular about some things. (Clothing, for instance!)
But, is our best eater.
He tries spicy things. He is a brave soul!
On the other hand... he doesn't like Cake and he only likes some kinds of candy.
Well, I can't complain about that!
So, for his birthday we picked up a large cupcake from the Bakery...
And then we ate Ice Cream Cones as the main dessert!

He is reading like a champ.. and spelling well, too.
At his 6 yr. doctor appointment, he told the doctor that his favorite food is
"I-C-E--C-R-E-A-M"
"C-H-O-C-O-L-A-T-E"
How cute is that??

He loves riding bikes and scooters
and is now a Yellow Belt in Kinect Martial Arts.
He is really becoming one of the 'big kids' and

We love him!

Happy Birthday, Liam!

Do I LOOK A.D.D.?

New Haircut, Silly smile, and shiny eggrolls. What's the connection?
Really, there is no connection.
But.. this is a picture of me. A.D.D.
I really think I should get a diagnosis so that I have proof of my ADD.
Here's the eggroll story.

Last time we fried eggrolls, I used a sieve to clean the oil and put it in the fridge.
This time, I pulled it out and dumped it into the fryer.
Then, I found another jar of "Oil" and thought, "oh, it must not have fit into one jar!!"
So, I dumped the second jar in. But, it was clumpy in the bottom, which was also weird.
Then, I started the fryer and it was taking forever to heat up.
When it finally got hot. It was bubbling like crazy! "Now, that is different," I thought!
So, I fried the first 2 eggrolls. They took a long time to cook.
When I pulled them out, I realized they were STICKY!
It took a few minutes.. but, eventually I realized that the second jar of "oil" was Orange Marmalade that my sister-in-law, Katie, had given me!!!
I fried these eggrolls in MARMALADE!

Then we have the "I lost my cellphone" scenario.
We go through this every day or two...
Patrick always asks me, "Mom, is it in your back pocket"?
And... well, sometimes, it is!

Now, you have even more proof. A.D.D.

Valentine's and Digital Scrapbooking

This was my first attempt to digital scrapbook.
This was a 4 by 6 picture! Look at how many pictures can fit on ONE sheet!
I can't wait to do some scrapbooking over spring break and in the summer! Fun!

1st Reconciliation (aka Confession)

Francis was very excited to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
I know this may confuse some of you.
You might be thinking that ALL CATHOLIC KIDS are afraid of confession!
Don't believe it!
Francis and his friends were VERY excited to be 'made clean'!

Although we are made COMPLETELY and TOTALLY clean by Baptism...
All of us experience temptation and sin from time to time, right?
In this Sacrament, we get to "Unload" our sins and hand them right over to Jesus for forgiveness!

Francis asked me on the day of his First Confession..
"Mom, what kind of cake are you going to make for my confession?"
Cake? I hadn't thought of that! I giggled and told him that I had never made a cake for a first confession!
It was then that he showed me that cake that he had already DESIGNED!
"No More Sin!"
So, of course, I made the cake. We shared it with Melanie and her kiddos.
God is so good to offer us forgiveness.. whenever we ask!
It was an exciting day for us!
