My sweet little Peter (Who can also be a grumpy bear!!) always asks me for 'cold ice and cold water.' I think it is so cute! But, he is starting to want to grow up.
Last week, he asked me what 'numbers' were in his name. "I want to write my name!," he proclaimed. So, I wrote 'dot letters' for him to trace. He then wanted to write everyone's names. (He tired out after about 4 names, lol! We have a lot of names here!) So, he is showing interest in being a 'big' boy and learning to write and read like his brothers.
He has also always been 'grossed out' by kisses for a long time. Even from me! He will turn his head and say NO when I try to kiss him goodnight. He used to say 'you can only kiss me on the nose', or something silly like that.
Tonight I gave him a big kiss on the cheek and a really big squeeze before bed. He looked SO happy! He smiled at me and said, "Thank you mom." (for the hug, presumably). "I am not going to do any bad stuff any more. I am not even going to say 'cold ice and cold water'. I will just say ice water, now."
I wanted to say:
But, no, don't grow up little Peter! I LOVE it when you say 'cold ice and cold water'!!
Instead, I told him how proud I am of him. I guess that was the right thing to do.
OK, now I am getting teary eyed. Better sign off.
